Choose the Right Stream Quality for Your Internet Speed

10 June 2026 3 min read

Original TV supports multiple live-stream qualities to match different internet speeds. Picking the right quality keeps playback smooth without buffering. Streaming at 720p needs at least 5 Mbps download, 1080p needs 10 Mbps, and 4K needs at least 25 Mbps. If your connection fluctuates, lower the quality temporarily from the player settings to keep watching continuously.

Quick Summary

  • 720p HD: needs 5 Mbps, good for average internet.
  • 1080p Full HD: needs 10 Mbps, best balance of quality and smoothness.
  • 4K Ultra HD: needs 25 Mbps, great for large screens.
  • Lowering quality during congestion prevents buffering.

Available Qualities

720p (HD) 5 Mbps
1080p (Full HD) 10 Mbps
4K (Ultra HD) 25 Mbps

How to Pick the Right Quality

  • Small screen (phone/tablet): 720p is plenty and saves data.
  • 32-50 inch TV: 1080p gives good detail.
  • 55 inch TV or larger: use 4K if your internet speed allows.

Adjust Quality in Original TV

While playing any channel or movie, open the player settings and choose Video quality. Select Auto so the app drops quality when the network weakens.

Tips to Avoid Buffering

  • Do not watch at a quality higher than your connection speed.
  • Use 5GHz Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
  • Close other apps while watching.
